ARE PIGSPIT.IE RESPONSIBLE FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING?

The responsibility for ensuring social distancing among your guests is the venue owner/event host. They should also have a designated a person(s) who are responsible for Covid-19. And who are also responsible for your guests following the social distancing guidelines. WHAT IF IT’S RAINING/WHEN DO YOU SET UP?

We will arrive on the day of your gathering in good time to prepare. If it’s raining we provide our gazebo ensuring your guests are well covered at all times while being served their feast. While the meat is cooking we will have plenty of time to set up the gazebo, if required, and to do other things like preparing salads and laying out side dishes on our buffet tables.

HOW DO YOU SERVE?

When the meat is ready the chef will carve and serve. Your guests can help themselves to any side dishes and then come straight to the spit to be served by our chef. We always remove parts of the animal to take into consideration your guests who may be sensitive. The meat is marinated in our own secret sauce followed by the slow cooking process which can take up to 10 hours.

WHAT ARE YOUR SERVING TIMES?

When we are the main caterers for a wedding, we arrive that morning to set up. Service then usually takes about two hours. For a private party or event, we would arrive two hours before we’re due to start serving and typically serve for two hours. We will clean up completely before departure. Service time depends both on the menu type and number of guests. Pigspit.ie will confirm
the approximate serving time of your event to you when your options have been finalised.

WHEN DO YOU HAVE TO CONFIRM YOUR FINAL NUMBER OF GUESTS AND MENUS.

All details of your day must be finalised with us a minimum of two weeks prior your event date. This will include your final number of guests, menu selection and timings.

DO YOU CATER FOR VEGETARIANS?

Pigspit.ie specialises in high quality hog roasts, but of course we will always have a vegetarian/vegan option on hand for your veggie friends! We will finalise guest numbers for this before your event.

DO YOU CATER FOR THOSE WHO NEED TO EAT GLUTEN FREE?

All of our meats gluten free, and gluten free bread available on request. We will indicate which salads and sides contain gluten.

DO YOU NEED ANYTHING TO BE PROVIDED?

We provide everything for you. The only thing we may need is electricity, access to water and power depending on which package you go for.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?
A 20% deposit will be required to secure your booking. The balance will be required 10 days before your event.

WHAT SIZE ARE YOUR GAZEBOS?

Our gazebo is 4.5m x 3m in size. This gazebo is perfect for informal events. For a wedding day we would recommend you hire a 6m x 6m catering tent which is generally provided by your venue or marquee provider.

IS THE COST OF TRAVEL INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE?

All packages include travel costs with a one-hour radius of Dublin.
An additional charge may be applicable for locations outside of this radius. 

CAN I GET A REFUND IF I HAVE PAID A DEPOSIT?

Booking deposits are non-refundable. However, in the unfortunate event you do need to reschedule your event with us, please speak with us to discuss your options. We will work as best we can with you to find another suitable date.
